Dear Friend,

Normally I'd wax poetic but a third of summer has disappeared along with my attention span, since I'm playing a set tomorrow at the Hostel and have, yet again, neglected to give a little more lead time with the newsletter. I've posted about it on Instagram, but we all know the algorithm eats those things. According to metrics, my engagement has dropped again, and perhaps I get what I deserve since I stubbornly refuse to play the game.

I had a lovely sunset house concert out near Joshua Tree at the beginning of the month, and a little bit of a post-show magic with the Milky Way dripping stars into the high desert winds. Maybe I'll write about it in the next missive, maybe it will wind up in a song. It was all so moving and I don't think I have it in me to render it to you, just at this moment.

At any rate, come see me, soon. I miss your face.
