Doors 7:30pm, Music at 8! $10 in advance or $15 at the door.Dear Friend,I celebrated my solar return last Monday, after erroneously commenting on KBOO's Live on Q with Cody Riker the earlier Saturday, that I am four years younger than Fiona Apple. I am, in fact, five years younger than Fiona Apple, who is also notably a Virgo, and celebrates her solar return on the 13th. So I guess in the mostly true story I tell about how she was the mesmerising if waifish opening act of the first big concert I attended unaccompanied, she was actually 20. I know I was 15 at the time, because a lightbulb went off in my head when she introduced "Never is A Promise" as a song that she wrote when she was 15. At any rate, I will be celebrating more this year with fellow Virgos Cody Riker (of Sister Sigh, 9/6) and Joe Sanchez (of Easyfolk Media, 9/3) on Friday at Kelly's Olympian. We hope you can join us! I'll be baking up some red velvet cake balls, but I'm only doing one batch, so I can't attest to how long they'll last. According to several sources, they're "legendary." They are, however, not VGF, so consume at your own risk. If it's not your thing, I will also have some shiny new stickers! They're a little... uh, cheeky.
